Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta

The resort is beautiful, clean, gated for security, and conveniently located about halfway between the airport and romantic zone. It's also only about 15 minutes from the marina. Service was a mixed bag. Nearly everyone was very friendly and I literally never opened a car door or moved a suitcase myself during the stay. However, the poolside restaurant and sports bar both left a lot to be desired. Wait times for service were excessively long on the occasions I visited. The food itself was also a mixed bag. Punta Sal was incredible. The poolside pizza might have been the worst I've ever had. The buffet breakfast and lunch were...a buffet. Some times were really good. Other items really did not stand up well in the steam pans. Overall, a great place to stay but glad I didn't go the all-inclusive route. The inconsistent quality of food would not have made it worth taking all my meals on site. Besides, there are plenty of other great restaurants to check out in Puerto Vallarta!

Tip - if you are staying all inclusive don’t bother with the Club Floor upgrade unless you really want a high floor!! Day 10, sad to be leaving! The entertainment team of Evelyn, Luis, Mariana, Ernesto and Jimena are great! The Tequila tasting on Thursday afternoon and the Mexican Fiesta on Thursday night are hilites!! Sunday brunch at La Valletta is amazing!! Jesus and Ricardo in the dining room are fantastic! Great fresh prawns and shrimp!! The other restaurants are good for variety!! But the buffets are all wonderful if you are on the all inclusive plan. Great finish once you learn what to avoid and how to get around the resort. Day 2 is improving!! The Club Lounge is great! The food so far is very good!! They need to give a better orientation without the timeshare sales pitch!! But otherwise!! Great pool, gym, restaurants and the regular staff are wonderful!!! 1st day, rough start!! Too much sales pressure on time shares and so many exclusions on All inclusive in Gaviatos, even though we upgraded to the Club floor!! If all you want is well pours and Corona !! Great!! If you want more! Tread cautiously! Beautiful rooms! Beautiful resort!! Thankfully it improved after the first afternoon!!

This is my favorite place to stay in Puerto Vallarta. The views of the ocean and the birds and the fireworks in the city are unmatched. The food and drinks and service in the executive lounge are fantastic. But the service is world class. Especially Bryand who made sure my room had the best possible Wi-Fi for all my virtual meetings. Couldn’t be more grateful or pleased!

We had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Puerto Vallarta. The view from our room was absolutely amazing — waking up to the ocean every morning was truly unforgettable. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, which made our experience even better. The only downside was that the tide was very high during our stay, so it wasn’t possible to swim in the ocean safely. However, this was completely out of the hotel’s control. One of the most magical moments of our trip was seeing whales right in front of the hotel. Watching them from our room and from the beach was an incredible and unique experience that we will never forget. Overall, it was a beautiful stay with stunning views, great service, and an unforgettable natural show. We would definitely come back!

Lovely hotel. Restaurants are fantastic. Food at the buffet is pretty good too. We got sucked in to upgrading our room to a balcony on the 14th floor but it really is the 4th floor. Not a comfortable balcony. The beach is very gravelly and sand is somewhat deep so one trudges through the sand when walking.

We arrived today at 4pm and hung around the pool for a few drinks with our friends Gama, Mariano and Marco. Always fantastic service by the pool. Then a quick shower and a visit to the lobby bar. I missed our server’s name but simply awesomely attentive. Then time to eat. Off to the buffet we go. We were served by Jennifer. We’ve been coming here for 10+ years and never have had such a friendly and personable person be our food guide. Jennifer was awesome, the other buffet staff were very helpful and this is the type of experience, on our first day, that sets a high bar for our week.

Stayed here for two nights. It was a very nice experience. I had a balcony room, which was a plus. The location is good — a quick 10-minute Uber to anywhere in the city (15–20 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic). I didn’t really eat at the restaurants, as I spent more time going to local spots. The pool was enjoyable; it was the typical experience with some people saving seats with towels, but there were enough lounge chairs (and extra ones stacked around) to find a sunny spot. The beach was very pretty, with gorgeous views — exactly what one would expect in Puerto Vallarta on the rocky coast.

The moment I arrived, I knew this resort was something special. From the warm welcome to the seamless check in, everything immediately set the tone for an exceptional stay. The rooms were superb, beautifully designed, immaculate, and incredibly comfortable. The food was outstanding, with impressive variety, high quality ingredients, and consistently excellent flavors. Service throughout the resort was attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring, making every interaction feel personal and effortless. A special thank you to Carlos at the front desk, who truly went above and beyond. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made a noticeable difference and ensured the stay started and ended perfectly. The activities were well organized and engaging, offering something for everyone, and the central location made it easy to enjoy everything nearby while still feeling immersed in the resort experience. An exceptional stay from start to finish, and one I would happily recommend without hesitation.
